About our firm

RR&K is a full service accounting firm with expertise in: corporate and personal tax preparation; payroll preparation and bookkeeping for businesses; auditing; QuickBooks consulting, and estate planning. We currently provide services to over 2,500 clients, including individuals, small businesses, non profit organizations and local governments.

Our History

Ritchey, Ritchey & Koontz, Certified Public Accountants, was established in 1955 by Caryl B. Ritchey (retired). Randall H. Ritchey joined the firm in 1981 after working for the General Accounting Office and Cotton & Company in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Caryl B. Ritchey retired in January 1988 and Bruce E. Koontz became partners with Randall Ritchey. Mr. Koontz's background was in corporate accounting, spending several years with Hedstrom Company and JLG Industries. Brad M. Koontz joined the firm during 1995 as Audit Manager after working for Coopers & Lybrand LLP in Washington, DC.  In 2002, the firm opened a branch office in Martinsburg, PA.  The manager for the branch office is Jeffrey K. Koontz, CPA, who previously worked for a regional accounting firm in the Philadelphia area before joining our firm. In 2011, Aaron C. Ritchey, CPA, joined our firm after working for KPMG, LLP, Marriott International and Goodman & Company, LLP, a regional accounting firm in Virginia.

We are a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants - Division for CPA firms and Government Audit Quality Center, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
